Steveston Festival 2011 - Aug 20, 2011

The Second Annual Steveston Dragon Boat Festival was a great day of racing.  The results don’t reflect the supreme effort our “Paddling For People” crew put in.  And the team building and fellowship and beautiful weather made for a fantastic day.

Food donations were generous, and we were pleased to receive $100 in surplus funds from the FLCC Chicks Ahoy, as well as modest contributions from first-time paddlers.

See you next year at the Third Annual 2012 Steveston Dragon Boat Festival on August 25th.  And if you’re interested in paddling next year or want to take part in the teardown of the race this year please join us at a Dragon Boat review and planning meeting here at the RFB Thursday September 22nd at 7:30 pm.  Coach David expects to be there and perhaps Alexis and Ann.

Our thanks to the Dragon Zone for sponsoring our "Paddling for People" team in the 1st Annual Steveston Dragon Boat Festival and the practices leading up to it. Thank-you Ann, Alexis and coaches Mark and Luc.

We have a new coach this season, David Williams, and everyone's very enthusiastic. We're building toward Race Day on August 20 and 21, 2011. More details to come.
